Flights - Cost Rica, an Introduction

Bordering Nicaragua to the north and Panama to the South, Costa Rica reaps the benefits of the temperate Caribbean Sea. Because of this, Costa Rica's coastline is rich in a sundry of wildlife, an ecosystem bursting with a diverse selection of marine life and miles of beautiful beaches.

The mountainous landscape of the country, has led the government to protect numerous areas, which have resulted in 20 outstanding national parks. Also, you will be able to find eight Biological Reserves and six Wildlife Refuges dotted around the country.

Because of Cost Rica's sometimes unpredictable weather conditions, volcanic activity and frequent earthquakes much of the country's ancient architecture has been destroyed. There is however, a large selection of museums filled with historical artifacts to contemporary artwork.

If you tire of venturing the vast mountains, forests and lagoons that sculpt Costa Rica's landscape though, then you can be happy in the knowledge that its natural charm extends further to the native people of Costa Rica, known as "Tico's".

Tico's are world renowned for being a warm and welcoming culture, often more than eager to offer help to travellers or simply kick back for a refreshing drink of the aptly named "refrescos".

Despite Tico's general laid back, reserved way of life, there is one thing they are well-known for, this being their love and passion for dance.

Ensuring your flights fall around one of the Costa Rica's many unforgettable festivals is a must, if you really want to swing with the fiery Tico's!

San José, the countries capital is likely to offer the best time in terms of nightlife and its diverse music scene and fashionable clubs further add to the experience.
