Aircraft News - baggage restrictions eased

New to government decisions on the amount of hand luggage on planes we take arising from the 7th January the 08th This change means that passengers are allowed on flights to or from one of 22 UK airports, carrying more than one piece of hand luggage per person.

The one element of the rule has been around since August 2006 were among many terrorist threats introduced at British airports, the government could carry many restrictions for passengers, which at one level. TheseRestrictions brought a piece of luggage per person rule, but also the type of item you safely with them, which remains in force.

This dictates that at one point that you were not allowed to bring liquids on a flight. Mainly because there are fears that terrorists could bring the necessary components to assemble a bomb / weapon and mount them to flight.

Although it managed to eliminate this threat, there are other groups who were affected, the parents of small childrenBoard were not allowed to bring pre-made drinks / food on all flights, this was a shock to parents who were forced to pour away the bottles, which they had prepared a long flight, and now had no food for junior!

This decision was relaxed slightly to be provided later, with a ceiling rather than a complete ban on liquids, the official deadline for this story is now 100ml each gels, pastes, food, etc.

But this change has not rolled out at all UK airports, currently 22 airports in the UK hand baggage will be allowed more than one item, but some others, in particular, will not change from London Gatwick Airport on 7/1/08 because of problems with the Department of Transportation.

The Department of Transport has asked airports to determine whether they can handle the additional cabin baggage whilst maintaining the current additional security, without them queues. Those who are not in a position to meet this requirement, as Gatwick, additional staff and equipment willwill delay the introduction of this new decision.

The airlines themselves are split on this decision, but British Airways is to provide two items of hand baggage per person is Virgin Atlantic clinging to the policy it has since before the August '06 changes, an item of Economy and Economy Plus passengers had, with certificates for laptops and handbags, but also two items of hand luggage for first class customers.

EasyJet flights have been reluctant managerChange in its policy an element, as it further uncertainty to the customer, because not all airports under this new ruling supports EasyJet operates from 14 UK airports, but only 7 were approved by the Ministry of Transport.

The most important point is that the enforcement of the BAA to ensure your flight company before you leave, check to know what is and is not allowed for your journey. At least with this change, it will make flying easier and no more worrieson almost all aspects of flying, what we hope for a relaxing flight to your destination!
