The passengers are mainly government officials, including the U.S. government secretaries. The pilots attempt the IFR non-precision NDB approach to runway 12. The plane goes off course and hits mountains north ofAirport, killing all 35 people aboard, including the United States, U.S. Commerce Secretary Ron Brown.
